[PATREON ONLY] Composing + Arranging MIDI Piano

Hey everyone! I've just got done making a 20 minute guide on how to compose for piano when all you have is a mouse, a DAW, and some music theory. I go through every step of crafting a SIMPLE chord progression (even though the key is kinda clumsy) into something that actually sounds like music. Hope you find it informative!

This will be a bit of a spoiler for my next video, but I really thought it would be helpful for some of you all. The next lesson is on the Andalusian cadence and I will be making MANY examples of how it can be used, the song you're hearing will be used in the intro to the video. I've also attached the mp3 and midi part if you'd like to use it for any reason!

The holidays are approaching, and I'll be offering out some special offers for my Theory Course here very shortly, so if you were thinking about purchasing it, maybe hold off a few days :) You can also expect another live Q+A early next week, I'll post a thread soon here to collect questions.

This is super inspiring to work with computer composition! I’ve been playing with Korg Gadget and this will work very well on that platform.

I remember the days of good ol Cubase SX3 (before I could play a keyboard) the piano roll programming was such a time-killer hehe. Having said that though, it does give you time to appreciate the theory of what you are doing as opposed to the contextual feel through the performance of what you are doing. Just out of curiosity, what was your progression of DAWs? For example, I've gone from Cubase to FL Studio, back to Cubase then Reason, had some time with ProTools (One of the least comfortable DAWs IMO) and then settled on StudioOne5.
