Hey Anna Jansson about your left hand injury, sorry to hear that. If I had this problem but wanted to do something in music, I might get a keyboard, and learn all the scales and modes in 1 key, like C. Then find the chords for C major like 1-4-5, then A minor and its chords. I would play these and improvise over them to see what sounded good. Maybe I would find a way to record it. Should you get good at that (one handed), maybe try the other modes in the C scale. Like No sharps or flats, A to A is Am, B to B is Locrian, C to C is Ionian (Major), D to D is Dorian (Santana!), E to E is Phrygian, F to F is Lydian, and G to G is Myxolydian. If I were to do this, which I have done before, I would play them all, to see what I liked, and focus on those modes. Good Luck! Don

Hi Jake here are my questions : 1. If the band member is playing a guitar already , why do some singers play a guitar ? is it so they harmonize the note with the chord to see if they're singing in tune ? 2. What difference does a song have in terms of impact if chords/harmony are removed and everything else is same ? 3. (big question)If we change 1 note in minor and make it harmonic minor ( it unlocks 6 more modes ) and another note to make it melodic minor ( another few modes ) so total almost 21 different scales ( which are mostly discussed ) what other changes are allowed and so on ? I heard Indian music has 72 scales and they have 1 5 constant and change other notes to retrieve other combinations , we already have 21 how can we get the other 51 or so ? Example harmonic minor with flat 2. are any of these new scales used ? although not typically. does the usage depends on output of harmonizing those scales as having mostly aug dim chords might be hard to use.
