Another thing I did this week was put together a video adaptation of a sketch from my WTF Just Happened podcast from a few years ago.
Its a parody of the Holidays are Coming coke advert, so I'm gonna release it as soon as I see #holidaysarecoming trending on Twitter, because that always happens at this time of year when people first start seeing the coke ad on TV.
Its always been a huge bugbear or mine cause I just find the way people tie nostalgia and "feeling Christmassy" to the coke advert a bit depressing because Coca Cola are a fucking evil company and don't deserve your respect. let alone any kind of affectionate consumer behaviour. These pricks profit off of marketing a drink packed with sugar that's got similar addictive qualities as many illegal substances and they're making the planet a fucking million times worse to live on and just...okay fuck it, won't rant, just I find it really distasteful that they've conned people into associating Christmas with their horrible company and I'm gonna be spamming that hashtag with this video when it comes because fuck Coca Cola.
Anyway, in other news, I plan on starting prep-work on Doom Coalition 4 this week. I haven't actually listened to Big Finish for a few months, I've been knee-deep in podcasts and other stuff. Hopefully I'll get onto Time War 1 in the new year, that and my copy of The Last Adventure's been sat on my shelf for a while.
I'm also one episode away from finishing watching Stranger Things Season 2, so expect a video about that, probably before the end of the month, but it could be December, depends if I get time to finish it.
We've got an inspection at work this week so I haven't had as much energy to dedicate to projects recently, but its this Thursday and the weight'll be taken off after then, so fingers crossed I'll have more time to put the rest of this month's videos together and hopefully throw you guys on Patreon some more extras.
I've also decided it'd probably be better to marathon the original Twin Peaks before putting together an analysis of the new one because its an obtuse series and I don't wanna fuck it up.
Another sidenote: my girlfriend and I have been watching a lot of crap movies from our childhoods lately, and we recently watched 13 going on 30, I'd never seen it before, and I paused it about ten minutes in and said "okay, does this happen:" I predicted the entire plot of the movie from just that opening ten minutes,.
Her: "Okay we don't have to watch it"
....I think I know too much about storytelling technique. Either that or its an incredibly chicheed and predictable movie, which we did end up watching the rest and it was.
...anyway that's irrelevant...
...or it might not be depending on whether I end up making any videos talking about movies again, cause I haven't done videos about movies since my Out of Context days...
