Stuff the I am doing - 08/12/17

Again, apologies for you not having heard much out of me lately but that is all gonna change soon - I've mostly got xmas shopping out of the way with now and i can see things calming down a bit at work within the coming week. As my way of apologising for lapse in updates, here is early access to the long awaited Doom Coalition 4 video that I literally just finished about 20 seconds ago:

I still haven't seen the christmas tv guide out, but I'm sure I'll see it soon so I can get started on this year's Blunt TV Guide. Was really sad to hear Charlie Brooker's not doing his annual wipe this year...then again, can't blame him, we all need time off from world events. That and really hyped for Black Mirror soon.
Anyway I also randomly wrote and recorded a new pointless witterings video. Will probably have it ready for upload in January. I plan on getting ahead of myself on 2018 videos while I've got the time in December so I can clear my schedule to brush up on my animation techniques.
If anyone has any advice about animation software, please lemme know. I'm tempted to return to adobe and try whatever it is they're calling flash these days (I think its called Abobe animate or something). I did flash at uni but I never really took it that seriously and found it a bit of a headache.
Oh and I also watched Naked Attraction and recorded the audio of my unedited reaction to it as a sort of test for a series of "let's watch shit TV" just for Patrons. I think it kinda works as a format. I'll post it here in the coming days and let you decide.
On the story front, I've been scribbling more ideas. I think I probably do have enough ideas to finish Broken Systems now, its just figuring out what context those ideas fit in that's the sticking issue, so yeah, we're probably still a fair way away from completion, I'm happy with about 2/3rds of the stories I have so far. I have three or four that I've built and take apart about eight or nine times and I still can't get them working. I've been trying this week to recombobulate Results Day into a prose piece about a world where children are infused with body-altering technology if they do well in their exams and essentially grow up into machines. The way I've done it's a bit horrible, even by my standards, it involves a teacher telling a kid that because he's done so well in his exams, he gets to have a metallic spider-like creature crawl down his throat.
...I think there might be something seriously wrong with me.
Anyway, on a sour note, I watched 13 reasons why from start to finish this week and am umming and ahhing about doing a video on it. I have plenty of thoughts on it, pretty much all of them very conflicted. In case you haven't heard: its sparked a massive controversy because its essentially a mystery thriller about why a teenage girl committed suicide, and there's been this debate raging about whether it glamorises suicide which I kind of see, but also kind of don't see because of the way the suicide itself was done. You don't see it happen until the end of the series and it actually left me feeling pretty sick and revolted for days afterwards. I mean...its powerful, I give it that, but given the actual suicide itself is left right till the end of the show and that meshed with the way some of Hannah's tape monolgues are written, while I enjoyed it for the most part, it is a pretty clumsy series on the whole and I can see why some might see it as harmful. But yeah, it has got me thinking about doing some kind of video about depression again, but given I've done a lot of healing over the past couple of years, I dunno if I'd be able to handle it just yet.
Anyway that's your lot for now, as said I'll be posting more from here on out.
