Stuff that I am doing - 16/02/18

Hey everyone.

Okay: to start you out with: I finished He Who Moans reviews Shada 2017, its online, you can go watch it below, as ever: lemme know if I've messed anything up:

https://youtu.be/D-ZN1JJrG8M

I'm aiming to get the Black Mirror Arkangel review done over the course of the weekend, I've got the audio and a copy of the episode, I've just got drawings and assembly to do. I'll post it here when I'm done but I probably won't put it out proper until the end of next week, I'd like to start spacing out my videos more instead of releasing them in big blocks like I have been lately whenever I get to that part of the month where I find myself with the energy to get lots done.

Oh yeah I've also finalised the script for the Crocodile review, that'll be an early March video.

I've also started work on the He Who Moans review of everything with Chris Chibnall's name on it in Doctor Who canon. I've done all the ones I've rewatched whenever I've had the chance within the last six months, I'm up to about Hungry Earth. I'm not looking foward to watching the rest cause I dunno how I'm gonna stay awake for it...probably need a massive pot of coffee and a pack of proplus....maybe two packs....okay five, god its so boring.

Next week I'm gonna have a week off from update blogs and do one of those "Let's watch shit TV" videos instead. I've picked my subject: its this stupid vacuous ITV2 reality show that I saw  trending on Twitter this week called "Survival of the Fittest" - I find it odd that ITV2 keep randomly scoring hits that I see trending on Twitter for like 3 days straight. It mostly seems to be this whole Love Island contingent that watches it....yeah my TV dissection videos aren't gonna just turn into "let's review softcore pornography that's trending on Twitter" but that's what people are talking about, its the cultural zeitgeist, that's the point of TV Dissection, gimme a break!!! :p

So yeah, anticipate a video of my ripping the shit out of that because it sounds easy and I'm feeling lazy :p

In other news: I finally FINALLY got to the end of a complete draft of that story where the guy winds up in an airport in a country he's never heard of. Its 7000 words, longer than the Internet Always Remembers, I wanted a long one so that's awesome. I'm gonna start cleaning it up over the course of the next few weeks and see if I can sell it to either an anthology or some kind of pulp sci-fi magazine. The story's called "Where am I?" I spent ages deliberating on the title and decided I wanted a question mark at the end cause I had the episode of the Twilight Zone "Where is Everybody?" in mind when I was writing it.

So yeah its going in the book, current table of content for Broken Systems looks like this:

1. Be Brave, Printer Old Friend

2. Cutting Edge

3. A.I: Artificial Incompetence

4. The Internet Always Remembers: A Cautionary Tale for the Digital Age

5. A Beautiful Industry

6. Digital Purgatory

7. A Broken Video Game

8. Where am I?

9. ??? I have an idea for something that thematically links these two

10. Factory Settings

11. ???

12. Vague idea for this that I need to make time for, working title is "Perfect Humans"

13. The Man who was 51% broken

14. He Died as he Lived

I've currently got Cutting Edge, The Internet Always Remembers and He Died as he Lived that I'm waiting on responses for at a bunch of places. I've also got two stories that don't fit with Broken Systems that I've submitted elsewhere, one called "Sympathy for the Disease" and one called "The Next Garden of Eden". Add "Where I am?" to this little pile of submittable pieces and if I manage to get one or two of them to come good, I think I'll be in a good place to start work on procuring an agent. Any advice on that front is always greatly appreciated.

So yeah, we're making progress on the whole book thing.

Ummm....think that's everything.

Happy Friday everyone :)

Love the shada review and agree 100% on it's success and also on why animation to offline recordings jars a bit. Surprised you didn't mention time but at the end hope u enjoyed it h certainly did!

Would it be pedantic of me to have noticed that you wrote two words the wrong way around in the title of one of the books during the large paragraph at the end?
