Stuff that I am doing - 20/07/18
Added 2018-07-20 11:35:58 +0000 UTCHello. I understand I had a new influx of Patrons recently because of my plug for snuggly chibnall time in the massive He Who Moans video. To said people: welcome! I do these blogs on a weekly basis (or not depending on how much I have to say) where I just sort of ramble about stuff I've been doing lately and what I might end up doing in the future.
Reminder to all $5 patrons, if you want a caricature/picture thing in a video, the email's stubagful@gmail.com
So yeah, Chibnall project's done and dusted. Huge thanks to Billy, Jon and Richard and to everyone who's patroned and tuned in to Snuggly Chibnall time. Definitely wanna do something like it again in the future. Its currently between Class (Richard's nomination) and Torchwood Miracle Day (Billy's) I've still never seen Miracle Day, at first it was an oversight, it had ended by the time I heard it was actually on, now its got to the point where I've actively been putting it off for the sake of my Youtube channel. I've also floated the idea of doing SCT for season 11 of nuwho with J, B and R.
My next massive long-running project that'll probably consume these blogs for a while though is the final two class videos which I've now finally started drawing. I'm not sure if I should make it so I can release them back to back around Halloween as they're kind of two contradictory explanations for what's really been going on at Westerbrook this entire time.
Next in smaller things I'm doing are the TV dissections I mentioned last time on Mrs Brown's Boys and Wrestling. Oh yeah and we also now have a september release date for Bojack Horseman season 5 which I also wanna cover.
The next He Who Moans probably won't be until the end of August (I just released 90+ mins of it, I need a bit of a break) I've got Classic Doctors, New Monsters 2 pencilled in as my next bigfinish, and also I've taken the beginning of a discussion that came out of Snuggly Chibnall Time and turned it into an editorial about how fans' general opinion of an episode e.g. Love and Monsters, kind of exists in a box. I always assumed I still hated it years later when I hadn't seen it in ages and upon rewatching it, I found I'd been keeping this memory of hating it in a bubble and couldn't really see why anymore. Its a bit like an opposite feeling of nostalgia - fondly hating something from afar and upon rexamination, your opinion's totally changed.
Yeah first I'm gonna do TV Dissection and that book recommendations video I've been putting off for far too long.
In other news: I am finally...FINALLY after all this bloody time, reaching the finishing line for "Like Machines" (what my themed short story collection is now called).
The last addition is a long interconnected anthology type story - sort of like Black Mirror's trilogy episodes where they weave a few stories into one (White Christmas, Black Museum). Those of you who read "A Beautiful Industry" in More Alternative Truths will be familiar with my idea that the machines have built a collection of islands in the middle of the Atlantic and segregated themselves from humanity. I've sort of expanded on that and got 3 stories told on 3 different islands of the Android Republic. The section I've been writing this week is called "The Isle of Ghosts" and its about a delivery guy who shows up on a deserted island where there's CCTV cameras everywhere but no residents. I wanted to do a sort of Wicker Man story of an outsider feeling out of place.
So yeah, once done, I'm gonna go back over the entire thing and make sure I'm happy with everything before I start thinking about agents, publishers, etc. Any advice (or better yet pratical suggestions/contacts) welcome at stubagful@gmail.com
Oh yeah also I'm gonna try and finish and release the remastered version of The Internet Always Remembers at some point over the weekend.
Anyway, happy Friday everyone!!! :)
