Big news!

Howdy dungeon delvers!

I'm back as promised with some news for the upcoming months! I took the time off to plan a lot of the future content for The Goblin Explorer and my plans to grow this community.

But let's go in order:

1. Behold the Dungeon Expeditions! 

This is a completely new type of content that I've dreamt on bringing alive for sooo long. Dungeon Expeditions contain:

• An epic, enormous dungeon (easily 100 x 100 i.e.), with multiple levels, more interesting developments...
• an awesome 30+ pages adventure written for the map with tons of original content (traps, new monsters, encounter tables, )
• a legendary boss fight with multiple phases in a carefully designed boss room...
• a new unique magical item that the boss will drop on death... give your players some memorable rewards!
• an animated map, playable as a video (mp4) with animated elements mixed with my usual style blending in a unique experience...
• a dedicated boss fight music track, composed by one of the amazing artists I collaborated with in the past...
• complete VTT support, the dynamic map, and the adventure are made into a module for FoundryVTT and EncounterPlus...
• an STL miniature for the boss (this is not guaranteed yet but I'm working hard to find someone who can fill the gap here)...
• beautiful commissioned art as a cherry on top.
• Print on demand. You'll be able to print the adventure at production cost and have it shipped to your home.
  

As you can imagine this thing requires a ton of work. Like a complete truckload... So in the beginning I'll be releasing only one per month at best.

sooo... when do I release the first one? Probably by the end of November, I'll post as often as I can to show you how the different parts come together...

To celebrate all of this I've created a small teaser at the beginning of the post.

2. I'm pausing the Endless Dungeon

In order to work on this I'm pausing the Endless Dungeon, this doesn't mean I won't be releasing any more of those, just that for the immediate future I won't. 

I need to ramp up the production of the Dungeon Expeditions first, once that process is lean and efficient I will have the time to go back.

3. You will still have access to the whole back catalog, which doesn't go anywhere... 

there are almost 90 dungeon maps, 70+ music tracks, 40+ adventures, and almost 800 assets, with complete VTT support for all maps. 

So I bet that in case you still need the occasional generic dungeon to throw in, you still have plenty to choose from.

4. I've adopted the new Patron billing system

New patrons will be charged for the months after the first on the day they joined and not on the first anymore.

It was about time that Patreon implemented this feature, to avoid people joining at the end of the month and being charged again a few days later.

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: Cause after drawing almost 90 dungeons I think people deserve more than generic small dungeons.

Q: Awesome, but when are you releasing the new content? And how often?

A: Soon, probably before the end of November. I will release roughly one Dungeon Expedition per month. I want to make them awesome and this requires time and a lot of effort. If it takes a week longer I will release it a week later, I will not compromise quality.

Q: So, no more new Endless Dungeon levels?

A: Not for now, in a few months I'll probably be able to also start releasing some of those as well.

Q: Why should I keep supporting you?

A: If you like what I make and want to help me create some memorable content. You will get access to every new Dungeon Expedition published and complete access to the quite big back catalog that I have already.
