How to Paint: Death Guard Part 1

Comments

This is a nice departure from the typical Death Guard paint schemes and methods. Very realistic.

Black + yellow creates a desaturated olive green. The yellow-brown over black primer โ€œblendsโ€ the colors to create a green shade. You can check yourself with any yellow and black.

It is still genuinely nuts that none of the greens of the armour are GREEN. I know you say that this is down to the translucency of the paint, but how does this work? i.e. why would desaturating an orangey brown push read as green? Itโ€™s on the opposite side of the colour wheel. Is this an optical trick? Genuinely confused here ๐Ÿ™ƒ
