50s Corporate Macot Design Style

I've been inking some 50s inspired characters.

A lot of corporate mascots in the 1950s (particularly kids' products) were designed in a UPA inspired style; very simple, flat and appealing, and easy to recognize at a distance.

These characters looked great in animated commercials too - especially when animated by the classic 40s and 30s animators.

I wish animated commercials would go back to this style because it's fun and entertaining.

The style heavily influenced TC cartoons of the 1960s like the Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Tennessee Tuxedo, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Roger Ramjet and their ilk.

Here's one that caricatures that 50s style with a bit of 60s influence on top.

I want to paint these, but am not sure yet how to do it and retain a 50s feel. I don't want to overdo the rendering.

I'll show you as I finish them.
