Plugging Away...
Added 2021-02-10 17:00:05 +0000 UTCI had this slated as a week to focus on my (actual, more boring) work, but that doesn't mean I've been able to leave the Inheritors manuscript entirely alone! I've begun the long, painful process of converting the story to its print layout and done a few tests to ensure my assumptions regarding conversion of the journal pages were correct - and, good news, for the most part it looks like we're in decent shape. I still need to figure out the best way to include the map, but that's a ways in so I'm not going to think about it just yet.
So, everything is more or less on track per the schedule I posted last week. I'll likely hammer out the majority of the manuscript over the weekend and begin work on the Kindle version around that time as well. I'm prioritizing the print version first because I'll need to receive at least one proof copy to ensure the type, images and cover are properly formatted before I hit the big red button - and they don't ship those particularly fast, in my experience.
In the meantime I'm also preparing the ground for my upcoming project, organizing notes and doing research. I've heard back from Harry and he's working on the cover, so we're on track to have everything lined up for a preview at the end of the month. I may just share that when it comes in if I'm sufficiently excited about it because I have the impulse control of a hungry toddler.
In last rambling announcement, I said I'd be shipping out signed copies of IoE to all renewing patrons and have managed to do some research into that - I'm still relatively new at Patreon, so this is all a learning experience.
