This is a pretty solid episode. Ive seen realtime episodes stick an actual timer on screen, and I think they could have made the lack of time more visible (come to think of it, this might have been more of a riff on 24 which was big at the time).

2019-06-08 12:55:25 +0000 UTCI think this is a good episode. The sentient planet/star idea had been done at least once in the past with the fourth Doctor story, "Planet of Evil". So the ideas aren't especially innovative in this episode, but the execution is done well enough for me to not mind that much. Tennant's performance was outstanding in this episode, which isn't anything new I know, but he was really good in this one. He's fantastic as the Doctor. He really sold how much pain he was meant to be in. It was also really startling to see the Doctor in such a vulnerable state because usually he seems to always have things under control. This also gave Martha a great opportunity to step up yet again this series, she proved ultra useful again in this episode and showed the Doctor how capable she is. Freeman Agyeman probably gave her best performance in this episode too. The scenes in the pod between Martha and her Mum were heartwarming and very sweet. Now we're into the final 6 episodes of this series, which are all really, really strong. One of the, if not THE strongest run of episodes in the modern era of the show. I hope you enjoy. You're in for a treat and I can't wait.
