That was a helluva episode. It makes sense, knowing that it was a mid-season finale! So many WOW moments - just amazing.

2020-11-16 07:42:46 +0000 UTCBased on what the creature told Fitz, I always assumed that Will died before getting to see the sunrise, and that it was the creature that we saw at the end of episode 5 of this season. As we see in this episode, Will's 1 bullet would have done very little, and it could have nicked an artery in his leg with the old sword it had, and then took over his corpse. Any emotion on Will's face in that stinger scene could just be the creature's disappointment at missing a chance to escape after being trapped in a wasteland for centuries. Then, as for the look that Fitz exchanged with Coulson, I imagine that it would be fairly unsettling to watch someone who you did not think was capable of murder, kill someone like that; even someone you hated. Especially since Coulson had the option of just hobbling Ward and leaving him to spend the rest of his miserable existence alone in a desolate hellscape.
2020-11-14 15:44:21 +0000 UTCThis was a mid-season finale, and a long 3 month wait for the next episode! But one hell of a way to start a season. I was quite shocked that Couslon actually killed Ward. Wasn't it a few episodes ago he said he'd never killed anyone for selfish reasons before? Well you have now Couslon. And you can never get rid of Ward - all hail zombie Ward! :) One of the best Coulson lines ever in this episode - "I'm be damned ... Tatooine". I really liked your point about how pretty much the whole cast had meaningful moments in this episode. Fitting for a mid season finale I guess, but another example of the great writing on this show. The end sequence with the slow-mo walk out of the pod is one of my fav endings. The way they incorporate the music in that scene always hits me.
