I love re-watches and can definitely picture going back to the beginning with this one. I'm sure there will be lots of details and nuances that I couldn't have noticed the first time around. (Plus I'm looking forward to seeing other's reactions, too!)

2020-01-23 05:50:51 +0000 UTCThere is so much in this episode to digest. "You choose, live with it" is definitely the theme of it. With Silver, with Max, with Rogers, even Eleanor who chose to throw her lot in with Rogers. I don't know if you're big on rewatches but this is a show that is even better on revisiting it because you see all the tiny seeds planted that eventually come to fruition. It was established early on that Eleanor's greatest fear was Spain returning because her mother died in their last raid. Her father told Scott that she would get herself killed either by "English noose or Spanish sword". How twisted that the man who offered to save her from the English noose brought down the Spanish sword. Eleanor was the hardest character for me to connect with because of her terrible decision making and her inability to see beyond herself but her death made me sad. If Jack or Teach had killed her it would feel like revenge for Vane but this just felt like the random violence of war. Is it weird that the saddest moment for me was Flint watching Miranda's house burn.
