Oh, that's a great point about the trajectory of both Billy & Silver's arcs - very true. Soooo disappointed in Billy, and I've really come to love John Silver :-)

2020-01-23 06:04:52 +0000 UTCThis series has such magnificent performances with Toby Stephens absolutely stealing the show for me but it's nice to hear Luke Roberts (Woodes Rogers) get some praise as well. While the monster hidden under the facade of a polite gentleman isn't a new archetype Luke treads the line of charming and loathsome with the perfect balance, certainly up there as one of my favourite TV Antagonists! The next three episodes may well be my favourite stretch of episodes in the series and while i'm gutted you'll be finished with this series soon i'm super excited to see your reactions too it

2020-01-20 06:54:31 +0000 UTCYay, Madi! She's the best. Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold are amazing as Flint and Silver. The writing is great, obviously, but their performances just slay. Billy's arc is like Silver's but in reverse. Silver started as despised by the crew and rose to Pirate King among them. Billy started as a beloved brother and fell from favor. Flint is definitely a man before his time. He wants the Revolutionary War and the Civil War all at once. But I suppose Julius had a point, that no one changes the world that much all at once.
