2020-05-15 07:29:18 +0000 UTCWhen you said you were hoping for more Jack in the previous episode, I was thinking "Oh boy, you're in for a treat for the next episode and here we are. We finally get to delve a bit more into Jack's past and its very intriguing. I love that Tosh and Jack are both together for this story. You mentioned before that Tosh has been sidelined since her last central episode but now she's finally getting more material here which is good. I like how she is just as curious to know more about Jack as much as the audience. Like she said, Jack really felt at home in this time period. The emotional connection between both Jacks is one of the best things about this episode. It allows Jack to open up some harsh wounds from his past and its rather adorable seeing him become awkward and shy as he starts to fall in love with the guy who's identity he stole. It's also sweet how he's trying to tell the real Jack to live his life like its last because he knows he'll die tomorrow. Very bittersweet. Nice that you caught the Vote Saxon sign. This was a great episode for Tosh too. I like that she was genuinely scared of being in the past and the slight racial tension with that woman didn't help either. But Tosh has such good chemistry with Jack here. I love how supportive they both were to each other. The moment with both Jacks dancing together is an absolutely sublime moment. Very beautiful. The kiss was great and the chemistry is awesome. Interesting power games between Ianto and Owen giving each other some reality checks but I loved your reaction to Ianto shooting Owen. When I first saw this, I had a mini cheer when Ianto pulled the shot because Owen was so annoying in this episode. I think the Rift Manipulator stuff could have been developed a bit better but Billis was mysteriously creepy and cryptic. Glad you enjoyed this. Definitely one the stronger episodes for S1
