Agreed. The Infinity War shout-outs merely give context, and provide a marker post, to what is currently happening in the greater MCU.

The attack on new york was happening during that episode. candyman mentions it briefly in passing when he gave her the centipede serum. He says did she see what was happening in new york and daisy says she did not watch the news lately. That was ironman hulk strange and Spiderman fight. Infinity war takes place at the same time as these last episodes. But remember this was written as a possible series finale to the show not an add on to the movies stories.
