I think it's as much to do with thumbnail photographs advertising the episodes as it is with actual malicious spoilers. Here's a funny thing that happened to me a couple of weeks ago: I decided to re-read The Hound of the Baskervilles, because it had been a few decades since I'd first read it. Other than the image of a glowing dog,I had no recollection of who was actually behind the murders. I started reading;was loving it;thought I'd take a quick break for a mug of tea. Switched on the TV,and watched a quiz show hosted by Bradley Walsh (Graham). FIRST QUESTION: "Which of these was the murderer in Hound of the Baskervilles?" I was bloody furious!! Not Bradley's fault,of course;nor anyone else's. Nonetheless,it took me a week before I was ready to pick up the book again. It just goes to show that (as Monica so accurately pointed out in her chat about the TV Movie) unless you live in a sealed world, inadvertent non-malicious spoilers are everywhere.
