Definitely the best so far from this era. I thought that the first, second and now third time I've watched it. I could do without the very obvious plot holes, but forgive most as they did something with the Dalek that I found very interesting and entertaining. I could also do with out the two cheap jokes of Brexit and WIFI. One's insipid point scoring at the potential detriment of the shows heritage. The other is a Dad joke that is simply very jarring. Pleased to see they finially gave Tosin something decent to work with. I think he's the most underserved character of NuWho to date. Bradley displaying his skill again. He's been the highlight for me this series. Yaz unfortunately seemed to fade a little more into the background than the others in this one. Best performance so far from Jodie I felt.

2021-05-24 20:34:16 +0000 UTCThe problem with the Chibnall era. So many choices made around checking boxes and trying to just make news headlines vs making good content. Im not sure if they had more stories planned to justify having a larger cast of companions and a lot of the stories just didnt make the cut especially with less episodes to work with. Just seems strange we check the diversity box for the cast but then "oh the Doctor is a woman now we HAVE to do a witch episode because obviously she would be seen as a witch" (and cause warlocks dont exist) Why have a bigger cast but not spend the time to develop the characters? Doesnt help when its episodic content so you need to introduce so much each story theres its a struggle to find time to insert character building.
