Episode Two - Dev Update #6

Hello!

It’s been quite a bit since our last update, but rest assured, we’ve been hard at work. Progress has greatly picked up since we finished the racing scene, and now we’re focused on pushing out the remainder of the scenes as quickly as possible, while still maintaining the consistency in quality.

Currently, we’re working on the environment for a key location in the story that will recur throughout the game. While environments take a lot of time since we create almost everything custom ourselves, it’s a necessary effort as future scenes set in these locations will already have everything set up.

This scene in particular will introduce a new character, as you've probably seen in the preview image. Of course, we don’t want to spoil anything just yet so we’ll save all the details for when we’re closer to release.

Speaking of release, with the pace we’re going at right now, we do have a rough idea for a release date set in mind. However, we don’t want to jinx ourselves like we always do. That said, it’s looking unlikely that we’ll make it by Q4, but it’s definitely not too far off.

This episode is taking a lot of time, as it will be our biggest update so far with 29 scenes (for context, Episode 0 and 1 combined have 27 scenes). We’re wondering if, in the future, it would be better to split up these episodes into smaller halves or if people prefer longer updates, even if it means a longer wait.

Regardless, the episode after this one (Episode 3) will hopefully take less time to complete, as most of the time and work for this episode went into the racing scene, which was our first big cinematic scene.
