HEEYYEY!! How are y'all doin? I'm finally in that "working rhythm" I've been chasing since I moved to my own place. I've successfully worked a 200-hour-month but honestly I think I could do even better. So much of that 200 hours was collecting gameplay for "How it FEELS to Play Pyro" as well as my upcoming medium-effort Far Cry video that it almost feels illegitimate.
So from now on I'm going to expect from myself that, in addition to getting in ~50 hours of editing done per week, I should be playing 1-2 hours of the game I'm recording each day and maybe even learn After Effects for at least 4 hours a week. To this effect, I have preemptively joined a Highlander team as Demoman to already start collecting footage for the next "how it feels".
Anyway, working pace aside, I've learned now that almost all competitive matches have STV demos that work similarly to Valve Replays. The above clip is a rough cut of an idea I have for using these demos. The point of the clip will be to demonstrate that, as Pyro, if you really want to save your teammates from Spies, your gut-reaction to seeing a Spy about to stab your teammate should be to AIRBLAST IMMEDIATELY! Once you have them flying and discombobulated, then you can kill them, but if you flame them first they will still stab your teammate which feels terrible!
Anyway I'm very excited for the direction that the Pyro video is headed, and I'm curious to see if I can finish it in 200 hours (which would enable me to perhaps have a monthly upload schedule for real). Until next time! <3
