Fate/Stay Night Episode 1 "Winters Day, A Fateful Night"

Comments

to me it feels like the first episodes are intentionally "slow and calm" ...although it doesn't feel slow to me. Most people who've already seen the show upon rewatching the first episode they will feel all kinds of tense. It's the same for the first episode of Fate/Zero upon rewatching as they introduce the characters you're already anxious even though nothing seems to be happening. I feel that they do the first episodes intentionally like this and it's pretty good on rewatch. And... UBW first two episodes are referencing Fate/Zero without any spoilers - I think Moustache noticed something...

anime series release dates, Fate/Stay Night 2006 (24 episodes) Fate/Zero 2011 (25 episodes) Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 2014 (26 episodes)

I played the VN in 2004. Literally has nothing to do with how Ufotable structured UBW to make sense after watching Zero. Imagine making people react all confused because you think the release order of 2 different stories in 2 different mediums by 2 different authors supercedes the order decided by the studio that's adapting it.

Calm it down keep it civil

Bro UBW is Rin’s route which came out the same time as the whole visual novel. Zero was made 2 years after Rin’s route. Like it’s not that hard to do a quick google search and see that. When you play through Stay/Night, you literally have UBW and HF afterwards. Like seriously Zero was just made so you knew about the past characters that were talked about.

Literally retarded, 2004 isn't even the same route. UBW was made with Zero in mind. UBW makes references to Zero, not the other way around. You gotta be a poser to believe UBW is meant to be watched first.

No it didn’t? The original Fate Stay Night came out in 2004, while Fate/Zero came out in 2006. So yes it’s perfectly reasonable to watch this first as it came out first.

Salby Garcia

This came out after Zero. There are multiple key points of the story that don't make sense without prior knowledge of Zero. The theory crafting doesn't work without prior knowledge of Zero. Whoever said to watch this first is brain dead.
