2021-06-05 17:20:45 +0000 UTC"Death perfects a person" is easily one of the most haunting speeches I have seen in a show for a long, long time. If every life has equal worth, then I guess someone's existence alone makes that person selfish. The first half of the priest's speech almost sounded like he was talking about Buddhism. I wonder how the Prince is going to realize this definition of love, assuming he is at all, if he is not going to take the christian path. If taking a secular path, is he going to become a utilitarian, where he would be willing to sacrifice few for the sake of many; play the perverse game of maximizing happiness for all? Or will he strive to be a deontologist; coming up with his own personal moral code irrespective of their consequences? Either direction is going to be fascinating to watch.
