Abashiri Prison is presumably the most famous prison in japan. It's kind of Alcatraz. Almost all Japanese knows it, and it's currently operational.

They were a new, smaller studio at the time, so the first season has a few hiccups here and there, but the CG animals are eventually changed to hand drawn 2D so no worries there. Golden Kamuy is one of those shows where it gets better in all departments the further you watch, so I hope you guys can fit it into your schedule some day. Very underrated... Anyways, glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching! <3
