if you notice with Whitebeard, he calls the other admirals "magma-brat" etc like he isn't bothered to call them by there full names, but he recognises Garps strength and calls him by his name also the same with Sengoku

He is the hero of the navy that is a title unique to him its not just a job or occupation its his way of life. A lot of the young soldiers fighting and dying in this war like Coby or Helmeppo have been trained by him and idolize him. The reason he has been so torn up until this point is because he knows he has to make a stand and it has to be with the navy. To ask him to betray the navy is basically to ask Garp to do the same thing as what Akainu framed WB for doing (selling out his crew and allies to save ace).

2024-06-03 04:58:11 +0000 UTCMhh maybe add Warlords between admirals and vice admirals in your hierarchy and because the Rookies have such a wide bounty range, most of them are more likely under the Warlords I think. Without help Luffy would have lost against Croko-boy and Moria, but like you said he just knocked down a Vice.

2024-06-01 22:40:55 +0000 UTCI usually don't post about power-scaling (since its by far the most toxic part of the One Piece fandom), but due to the discussion at the end - I'll just mention a few things on how 'powerful' Luffy is compared to the rest of the world right now. If you remember in Sabaody, Kizaru calls X-Drake (the tyrannosaurus guy), 'former rear-admiral'. So if we use that as a baseline, all the rookies are ~ as strong as a rear admiral. So Luffy would be around as strong as a rear admiral at this point in the story. The hierarchy in the marines goes something like this: Fleet admiral -> Admiral -> Vice Admiral -> Rear Admiral. Now Luffy should lose vs all vice admirals, but in the second episode that he enters the war, he uses gear 3 to one-shot a giant vice admiral in one attack if you remember. So, just as a rough estimation, Luffy is somewhere between rear admiral and vice admiral in terms of strength, although vice admirals vary greatly in strength. Now onto Garp...one thing that is often overlooked about Sengoku watching Garp closely, is that we have seen Sengoku and Garp together plenty of times during already. And they always seem to have the vibe of best friends. So while Sengoku said in the ending of the last episode that they may be forced to join in the fight, that was more so in terms of self-protection. And like he says in this episode, he never expected Garp to join the fight 'actively'. He doesn't expect him to participate actively in this considering that he knows how Garp feels and seems to be very close to him.
