2024-09-29 07:49:13 +0000 UTCCongrats on completing the Steins Gate! The anime adapts the true ending of the visual novel which is pretty much the full complete happy ending. The other routes/endings are what if scenarios where Okabe didn't undo a person's d-mail and lived with the consequences. So there are the Suzuha, Faris, Luka, Mayuri and Kurisu endings. All ranging from depressing to bittersweet. Steins Gate 0 is an adaptation of the Steins Gate 0 visual novel. The base premise and selling point of 0 is that its the story of the Okabe who failed and gave up on saving Kurisu but eventually ends up becoming the one who figures out the plan to reach Steins Gate and sends the video to his past self from 15 years in the future. That is the connection on how it fits into the original series' self contained story.
