Progress Update: September 2025

My dear Patrons,

What a month it's been, and it's not even over. I will be away by the end of the month, and so I'm writing this progress update a bit early.

Much of the first week was spent catching up on various bits of work that needed to be done and had fallen by the wayside, such as adding chapters to all of my old videos, and while I did so, DESR spent time assembling research sources for Project C and finding books for Project D to begin research.

After I was caught up on all of my more time-sensitive matters, I began rifling through the collected sources for Project C and following leads farther, and while at first we thought that it might not be suitable for a video, I believe that, despite how much information has been lost, it may be worthwhile. There's a story buried in there, but there are a lot of gaps.

Either way, Project C would be much faster to create, practically guaranteeing that we could release by the end of the year, but it IS an internet-related episode, and I would like something more historical after so many internet topics in a row. Therefore, it's likely that the next video will be Project D, which may need more time depending on how time-consuming research is. (I'll be reading a lot of books.)

Also rather unique for Down the Rabbit Hole is that I'm reaching out to some content creators who are educated in relevant fields for Project C. One of them has already sat down with me to go over the materials and has been extremely helpful in identifying some rather peculiar scientific aspects of it, though I need a few other experts to help me with some other parts and fill in more gaps.

Ryan has been working hard on a model that we may end up using for a visual component of a video, as well, depending on how we can make it look, but describing it too far would likely be spoilers. Suffice to say that it looks quite good.

The initial meeting with the enthusiasts helping me for the Power Rangers video had to be postponed due to availability on their part, but we have plenty of other projects and so this hasn't slowed us down.

Project E has been put on hold while C and D take precedence; C and D can most likely be made faster so that we can prevent too many delays in releases, and I've lost a couple of weeks to other more time-sensitive work. The Foxhole video has unfortunately been at a standstill while we wait for graphics.

In the meantime, DESR has begun work adding proper official English subtitles to every Down the Rabbit Hole video, making them in reverse chronological order.

Another note is that I'm in conversation with multiple other parties for sponsorships. I have never taken a sponsorship before because I'm unwilling to attach my name to any product or service that I don't personally back. Should any of these sponsorships go through, they will be for things that I personally use/games I actually play and truly enjoy. For example, one of these is for a rather obscure indie game that I absolutely adore and have at least a hundred hours playing, while another is a tea distributor whose teas I love.
