This song is so beautiful every time I hear it, my eyes well up with tears of joy. And that heavenly sound of Uthara and Unnikrishnan was the cherry on the top. I think you had earlier reacted to a song he sung ‘Ennavale Adi Ennavale’ an ARR composition.

For your understanding I'll try and explain how the most simple of beats is done matching the 7 notes Sa, Ri, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni and slides off with another Sa towards the end. The most popular and simplest beat (called Taala) is named as Aadi Taala (meaning the first Taala). It is as follows: 1) for Sa - you beat the entire palm face down while singing Sa, 2) for Ri - you beat the palm down but stress the pinki onto the thigh while singing Ri, 3) for Ga - you beat the palm down but stress the ring finger into the thigh while singing Ga, 4) for Ma - you beat the palm down but stress the middle finger into the thigh while singing Ma, 5) for Pa - you beat the palm full face down while singing Pa, 6) for Da- you beat the palm face UPWARDS while singing Da, 7) for Ni - you beat the palm full face down again while singing Ni & 8) you end with another Sa - you beat the palm face UPWARDS while singing Sa.
