2021-02-17 16:17:49 +0000 UTCVyjayanthi Mala is a renowned Classical Bharatanatyam dancer,she started performing from the age of 8, she even performed at Vatican for Pope in 1940, she was asked to perform freeflow dance fused with bharatanatyam to show the difference between her and Padmini.They were both versatile and amazing classical dancers.she started off as a Tamil actress .She was born and brought up in Chennai .She did later become a big name in Bollywood movies and reigned for a long period in Hindi films especially after playing the role of chandramukhi in Devdas.

Both the actress were amazing dancers of their time...no doubt, this song is still a classic to us. We all like the movie...not sure if guys will like it though... Kamal hassan was a small boy in this movie!!

It was way more complex than Hollywood during those days here in India, particularly in south. The song and the music are recorded by singing and playing together from start to end. The visual part is done in breaks but if you see a long shot it is done in one shot and then when it comes to close up shot it is separately done. There are even multiple shots recorded separately and then while editing and merging the best one that fitted has been taken. Padmini comes in screen first in this song is predominantly Tamil actress while Vijayanthimala who challenges is from Bollywood and done in other south films as well. Padmini is a bharadhanatyam dancer as well. This seems to be wrong info, I somehow got confused with something else: [But Vyjayantimala is not a professional learned dancer. During the song making it seems Padmini was happy to help on the dance aspects.] - Sorry for that.
