What I've been up to...
Added 2020-07-21 01:14:24 +0000 UTCI haven't been posting videos to YouTube as regularly in recent weeks, but I'm still keeping busy. Juggling multiple projects at the moment, all of which are pretty elaborate. I don't know if I'll be able to get another video out by the end of the month, but I promise that there are some really exciting videos coming in August and September that'll hopefully knock your socks off. Here's what's in the docket:
A Silver Play Button unboxing video with a... dark twist.
An episode of Checkmate Lincolnites about Sherman's March, which I had aimed to complete this month, but I'm waiting on samples of my merch to come in the mail first, as I'd like to advertise it in the video. But I'm deep in the research now, and I've already picked out Johnny Reb's comments... they're really good.
A collab with Cynical Historian for Project France, which is one of those HistoryTube get-together type things. My video will be about Franco-American relations in New Orleans after the Louisiana purchase. It's already written and I'll probably shoot it later this week.
A brief history of early filmmaking, which I've been conceptualizing for a while now. It'll mainly be about how late 19th century magicians embraced the new art of filmmaking, made incredibly inventive movies, and made their mark on the medium. I'm especially excited for this one, because most of it will be in anaglyph 3-D.
Something involving a guillotine. I just learned that a friend of mine has a full-size working guillotine, and by hook or by crook I'm going to film something with it. I asked the HistoryTube boys if it could be of use for Project France, but they didn't seem to have any ideas, so I guess I'm on my own.
A deep dive into the novel Dracula, which has always been one of my favorites. It'll be a commentary on the themes of the book, with lots of attention paid to Bram Stoker's fascinating and somewhat sad life. There will also be some theatrical elements of this video that I hope will be genuinely creepy and disturbing.

Really like Dracula's Guest being in the picture. Even though in my opinion both the novel and the movie(s) wouldn't have worked if Dracula's Guest really had become the first "chapters" of "Dracula".
