Holiday season update

Here's Sal in the crypt. I've cleaned all the dirt off the floor (it got everywhere) but I haven't had the heart to take the whole thing down yet. A maintenance guy from the property management company came by yesterday – going through the set, I just mumbled something about shooting a short film with my friends, and incredibly, he barely even glanced at it.

Hope everyone is having a happy and relatively stress-free holiday season so far. After my long sojourn in the Civil War, I've decided to go back to the 17th century for a while.

First, some quick Sudbury Devil news – I've been doing some mini test screenings showing the first cut around to friends and family. I'm happy to report that the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, but there's still much to be done. I've spoken to key crew members and laid out a timeline for post-production. Our goal is to have the movie finished by August of 2023. We have a good lead for a premiere venue in Salem, and we're trying to organize screenings in Boston, New York, and New Orleans shortly afterward. We're also exploring the possibility of screenings in many other cities as well, but we'll see.

As far as youtube stuff, I just dropped a new video on King Philip's War for early access that's part of a collaboration with Brandon and a few other military history people – that should be out on Sunday or Monday. After that, here's what's in the docket:

An Old School Q&A Video ~ As per my post last week, I'll be answering patron questions. This will be a nice easy video just to have in my back pocket, to release while I'm working on Sudbury stuff over the next couple weeks.

Native American Weapons and Tactics of King Philip's War ~ I'm going up to New England for the holidays this month, and I'm trying to organize an on-camera demonstration with a few reenactor acquaintances I have up there. Juggling schedules now, fingers crossed it all comes together.

What Caused King Philip's War? ~ I'd like to start compiling a chronological playlist of my King Philip's War videos, that when finished, could act as a more or less complete accounting of the conflict. It's only a matter of time before some revoltingly popular wiki-dump channel makes a "kInG pHiLiP's WaR eXpLaInEd" video acting the war out with "countryballs" or whatever the fuck and gets a bunch of shit wrong, so I'd like to get out ahead of it with a more nuanced and in-depth narrative. I thought a good place to start would be taking a nice hard look at the causes of the violence (I'd probably shoot this one up in New England too).

Another "Future Self Responds" Video ~ It's been four years since I started making educational videos on youtube, and some of the older ones are, well, shit. I thought it would be fun to do another self-response, as the first one seemed to go over well.

Frozen '50s Man Episode 3 ~ This is a ways off, but it's almost time to return to the adventures of Dick Jett and Alexis Buttle. I've already started writing the script, and I'm aiming to start getting serious about it in February or March.
