"Birth of an American Town" delayed, cheery video about slavery in the pipe
Added 2023-08-02 00:58:48 +0000 UTCHello all, The Birth of an American Town is still coming and it's going to be an honest-to-god epic, but unfortunately it didn't come together in July like I thought it would – mainly because my guest narrator has been a little slow to get me the voiceover, and I can't start editing without it.
Now it's 15 days until the final deadline for the total completion (!!!) of The Sudbury Devil, which means I've got my work cut out for me as I guide this massive ship into the harbor. Unfortunately this summer, which I predicted in an earlier Patreon post would be a relatively chill time where I'd be mostly in a supervisory role for the movie, has been incredibly hectic and stressful. Turns out being the boss is really fucking hard. I'm less of a supervisor and more of a firefighter.
Anyway, Sudbury will delay production of regularly scheduled Youtube programming yet again, but I promise that will be the very last time I write those words.
Apart from a couple of fun low-effort movie-related uploads the week of the premiere, I was also recently struck with inspiration for a heartwarming video analyzing the writings of notable early 19th century American pro-slavery """"intellectuals"""" that will be a real squirm-fest. Not sure when that's happening, though – really just as soon as I have time after the movie and the Town doc.
