I'm French and my first Bollywood movie was K3G when it aired on TV somewhere around 2003. As my daughter was really into Hindi cinema, she made me watch a lot of Bollywood movies of that era before rewatching it, so that I could understand it better. I love how Karan Johar used Alok Nath to subvert his typical sanskaari father type, love the Kuck Kuch Hota Hai references, always love me some Johnny Lever, and Jaya Bachchan is great, but my favorite part of the movie, beside the songs, was Kajol's performance as the happy-go-lucky middle-class Punjabi girl. Even more impressive when you know that Kajol doesn't speak Punjabi at all and had to learn a lot of lines in Punjabi. Could have done without the siblings subplot, though...
