The actor in the song is Navin Nischol. One of those actors who was never a 'star', but has some fantastic songs filmed on him. I think by far the best is Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho from Hanste Zakhm. A masterpiece of a composition by Madan Mohan and wonderfully sung by Mohammed Rafi. As for the director Hrishikesh Mukherjee, you were supposed to watch Golmaal (1979) this month no?
