I didnt love the movie . I liked it . Deepika was really very good. She stood tall amongst all. Pun intended :D The story was very good too. I had a problem with investment in the characters. I agree with some people who mentioned that they didnt feel invested in them. It could be because they are difficult to identify with as Part of Indian society . Choice of clothes, language, locations - everything was way urban.. Like why Naseerudhin Shah’s character would have a cheese farm that too in Nashik. Thats too random. may be a winery or fruit orchard would have sounded right. (Nashik has most wineries in India. Sula wines are from Nashik) Or the yoga studio looked very western, and not Indian. Another thing if Deepika was really into yoga and the principals of it, she would not be giving instructions in english. There are asana names in india. These characters were based in India but not Indian enough. If that makes sense. May be thats what takes you out of the story and you dont feel invested .

I understand that the complexity of human emotions and the perils of generational trauma depicted in this movie is not appreciated by those who are acclimatized to a certain genre of Hindi drama. So, it's not a surprise that the movie did not receive as much love as it deserves. Also, I agree that this is Deepika's best so far. What a stellar performance!
