I had the good fortune of doing my Masters at Pondicherry (now Puducheri) University. The campus is vast with over 2000 acres and is a nature lover's, bird watcher's paradise. It also sit along the East Coast road where past the road, its a really pristine beach and the mighty Bay of Bengal. The town is unique in its culture of mixed tamil/french and the Auroville ashram being the center of life there. I tell anyone who is willing to listen that I partied for 2 whole years and got a degree in the bargain!
