But since it's Subhash Ghai's film I have mixed feelings;-) Maybe first I'll try to finish his Ram Lakhan and watch Karz. You should watch Jackie Shroff in Parinda (as mentioned above). I liked him also in Rangeela though this film belongs to Aamir Khan.

After his personal life took a turn (which is way more colorful than any character he’s ever played) he started playing grayer characters. He then became typecast as a gangster lead for a while in the 2000s before transitioning completely to quirkier villain roles.

It influenced many contemporary directors like Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. Parinda and then the Ramgopal Varma directed Telugu movie Shiva were the movies that brought a refreshing change from the overly dramatic movies that were been made in those times. Also, if you wanna see Parinda see it in Amazon Prime Video. Somehow the YouTube version seems replete with cuts.

He has that attractive look and during 90s apart acting he was mostly famous by his hairstyle and unique walking style. He did lead actor roles mostly but he was equally too good in negative roles. Best movies for him i can recommend is Vaastav. A gangster in it. The munna bhai mbbs and lage raho munnabhai ( a must watch of Raju Hirani - strong message behind his movies) This movie khal nayak. Sadak ( the road ) and Agneepath .
