Idk always found this scene to be a little too much into the north vs south thing tbh. It can be construed to be a little offensive. Just like lungi dance song.

It all makes sense now why they kept referring to Shanti as the "Dreamy Girl". :) That's the other thing, as a 90's baby who hasn't seen a lot of 60s-80's movies, I'm sure I missed many references like this one and it was still a very enjoyable film. I totally think if y'all just watched the movie today, you would get most of the references as you have seen many many Indian movies/songs etc. And if there are references you understand later, then that's always fun too!!

One reference you may not get that I wanted to point out. Deepika s character in the 1970s was based on Hema Malini, aka Basanti from Sholay. She was the original “Dream girl”

Google the famous "Manoj Kumar pose". You just need to know what it looks like. Yea you may find articles on how Manoj Kumar sued SRK and the filmmakers over this....yep, that happened. 2. This film is fun and shouldn't be missed but has flaws in the second part. I appreciate it much more with your reactions and comments here. It's essential to get contexts, faces to really appreciate what's been done there. You may still react to the song Main Agar Kahoon.

The whole movie is not a spoof, it's more a nod to the old bollywood stories in which re-incarenation was a major theme. I know lot of people love this movie - but i don't get it.
