Being far away from the issues of colonialism, I'm realising that I grew up mostly with the western perspective of the British rule in India - books, commercial cinema etc. And I'm too young to remember the time when unjust western rules in colonies were propaganda topics for communist regime in Poland. But as a Pole I have understanding for the thirst of freedom and independence. We spent most of last 200 years fighting to regain independence as a souvereign state and overcome different kinds of opresssion.
