Was a great watch for me. Was a full house when I saw it and the room was full of energy throughout the movie. I almost died from laughter when the lady sitting next to me recoiled and said 'ewww' whenever Sarathkumar touched Ash. Hilarious!

2022-10-06 04:39:57 +0000 UTCThank you for the honest review, Rick and Korbin --Grateful to Mani Ratnam for introducing this Tamil epic to the rest of us --You are right, the story needs to be explored further as a web series (I was completely lost though I tried my best to keep up) --Like all Mani Ratnam movies, the women just shone. Like diamonds. Literally :-) (like in Mouna Ragam, Roja, Dil Se highly women-centric films). --Not sure if this particular genre is Mani Ratnam's strength - he is a truly 'feminine' director. (I didn't feel his genius here but others might) --Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and Aishwarya Laxmi were brilliantly, brilliantly directed in this movie (book) --I can see from some of the comments above that the book is more complex, with the characters more well developed, and there is satire instead of Jayaram's over the top comedy (love Jayaram though :) so I'll go read the book (and maybe that's what MR wanted) --My favourite scene was where the main guy meets Aishwarya in her palace quarters. It took my breath away cos the music, setting etc. just came together.
