Korbin, you mention @11:00 how intimidating it would be to portray the voice of Shiva in the song. There's an anecdote on that note: The original idea in this story was that the egotistical singer would perform a highly complex song on stage, then he would hear this song that outclasses his performance, deflating his ego. But when the first song was recorded (sung by the acclaimed carnatic vocalist M.Balamuralikrishna), it was such an outstanding performance that the makers felt it would be unfair to ask this singer (TMS, legendary in his own right) to try to outclass it. Instead they changed this song from complex vibratos to simpler melodies and focused on the lyrics to emphasize the power of the voice of God.

He along with Sivaji Ganeshan (in this film song) were legendary for being the face of the gods and also extremely good actors too. Please explore more on both of them during classic month or otherwise.
