The multi-star thing is usually about stars who have built a career as entertainers, not as thespians. It's more like the Vin Diesel/Dwayne Johnson spat than a De Niro/Pacino collab. The reason these stars have hits is because they bring in their fans and if you have multiple stars, then their fans start fighting on who has the bigger billing. Especially when it involves stars of the same age group, because their fans usually pick a side. The decision is often (not always) driven because of these fan clubs and not because of the stars themselves.
