Item song and promotional song are two different things.. Item numbers are enjoyable but usually women are objectified and thats the purpose alone.. Munni badnam hui fevicol se Chikni chameli Ram chahe Leela chahe Etc are item numbers where usually the woman is there to just entertain the “hero” Dard-e-disco was first male item number done by ShahRukh where he allowed himself to be objectified.. you guys have seen it. Promotional songs are- Kala Chashma Nadiyon par Or many of Katrina’s numbers are used as promotional songs . Dont help story anyway but used as marketing tool
