Traditionally, men would bring gajra for their wives.. gajra is a flowers woven in a thread to tie around women hairbun .. these are usually fragran flowers.. these are sold outside temples..
In the song Karishma is wearing it in her hair.. you would notice until the 90s women actors would wear flowers in their hair..
So no, bouquets were not bought so much.. it is a western influence..
But yes gajra for the ladies or one rose for the men’s kurta .. you will still see lot of gajrawalas outside temples.. flowers are usually for the home shrine.. mostly fragrant flowers…
Not so much for the milennials though.. women now wear fake gajras usually only on festivals..
But I remember my Father would bring gajra for my mom once in a while and he does that even today at times..
