I don't think the movie was based in Maharashtra. It was based in UP or any Hindi speaking state. Though I guess the movie was probably shot in Wai, Maharashtra.

2022-09-13 23:47:45 +0000 UTCIrrfan was a very good actor and is decent in this film too. Some actors like him will be good anywhere but will also say that this was not a very well made re-make. Supposedly SRK and Irrfan were childhood buddies and spent time in that village which one realizes, is set in Maharashtra. But neither does Irrfan or SRK or lara Dutta bother to get the nuances of the language or accent. Only the town folk in the last sequence have distinct marathi accents. Lara's fashionably streaked hair kind of contradicted her rustic character. All am saying is that a movie must have been good and that is why someone wanted to remake it in another language. Now that many of us are getting used to reading subtitles, why don't you explore the originals more?
