I find it quite disheartening that the Oscars is being promoted as the standard in awards. They should focus on American content - aren't they an American award? They cannot be the default award for INTERNATIONAL FILMS. Very sad. Include diverse content from American films, let the others be. P.S. I do understand it has marketing value for Indian filmmakers and the ability to capture the U.S. markets. But that's all it would ultimately be, not a mark of cinematic excellence or a celebration of a specific culture's ability to express itself.
