The Kannada and the Tamil versions had the same director : P. Vasu. First he made the movie in Kannada where the movie was very successful. Then he remade it in Tamil adding some more comic scenes and some more side plots. Personally I prefer his Kannada version more. But obviously the best version is the original Malayalam version, no doubt about that. And, the Hindi version Bhool Bhulaiya, actually is very close to the original in terms of story and treatment.
