this is such a fun film. The first half is my favorite. The 2nd half starts to take itself seriously, so i dont really love it. but still , the filmfare awardsequence is hillarious

But that's director Farah Khan's style From film point of view I very much prefer the first part, second for me looses pace but the climax song is epic. One of the best climax songs. Film will be also remembered for this unique industry gathering together and making fun od themselves.

Itβs not a movie meant to take seriously and yet itβs one of the movies I believe is a masterpiece in how repeat-watch worthy it is. Nothing to watch? Letβs watch OSO. π We watched this twice in theaters and it was such an experience. So so glad you guys enjoyed it and appreciated it for what it is meant to be.

Even the background score - the use of ponderous Sitar and Sarod music was a given every time a mother figure came on screen and that happens every time Kiron Kher (who is Anupam Kher's wife) was in a scene with SRK. The overly dramatic score in the first set on fire when Shantipriya dies or every time SRK remembers those sequences in his reincarnated form, all that score is very typical of 70s films in India (all languages) and are all very deliberate decisions by Farah Khan, the director. She is very good at making these films that are self aware and off screen, she is a very self deprecating person with great sense of humor. You should watch Koffee with Karan episodes with SRK and Farah Khan together. Both are extremely witty and a lot of fun. Btw, she is Zoya and Farhan Akhtar's cousin too. Not sure if you realized but the producer of the film that walks the red carpet in the end credits, is SRK's wife Gauri.

2023-02-06 20:30:15 +0000 UTCAmazing amazing watch along π absolutely loved Steph's reactions, especially when Kajol appeared and they did the step from KKHH, Steph's reaction reminded me of mine and my friends who loved SRK-Kajol pairing onscreen. It was amazing to see that you'll could get many of the references shown, this was definitely the perfect time to watch this movie. Very glad you both enjoyed it and I agree, the movie is stupid, but FUN!

2023-02-06 13:18:38 +0000 UTCThe producer that they showed in the end credits sequence is Gauri Khan (SRK's wife) & Karan Johar did the costumes just for SRK (he used to do SRK's costumes for quite a few films earlier including DDLJ and Veer-Zaara). They dubbed Deepika's voice as this was her first film and she is from the south (Bangalore specifically which is also referenced in the movie) and she couldn't speak Hindi fluently at that time.
