This review was as if they just verbalized everything in my mind except the “it wasn’t full blown woody Allen” comment.
My response, “uh, it was pretty close”. 😂
Lamhe is a Highly problematic movie that I love so much.
Also, both alternative endings they discussed were great. I always thought they should end the movie with Sridevi’s monologue at the end too.
Yash Chopra’s next to watch: Chaandni (in my opinion Sridevis best movie) and Kabhi Kabhi (but the only thing is, the dialogue in this movie is beautiful and doesn’t translate - so not sure how much it would be appreciated bc I can’t remove the dialogue from the love I have for this movie.
Loved this review! Wish we could get a do-over for the Silsila review and discuss it the way this one was discussed.

This movie was rejected in India at the box office and barely lasted a week. While its deemed a cult classic now, the story line was not accepted by the audience and was a box office disaster. Which was major news considering it was Yash Chopra the most heralded director at the time.
