Korbin and Rick .. because you loved this movie so much and you appreciate Marathi makers and actors, one movie to watch is Jhund.. Its a hindi movie .. directed by Nagaraj Manjule director of Sairat and Fandry who attempted marathi movie with Amitabh Bachan.. People will not upvote it.. too many commercial movie lovers here .. As you might have guessed by now Marathi makers are not so good at marketing .. and their art is niche .. Give it a chance ! Just like you gave a chance to Deool

The same director writer duo also made “Valu-the wild bull” which is again a satire but a simpler one. Deool is actually very funny in the beginning part. You are right. Most of Marathi actors are thespians. Its a very theatre rich culture. My mother who grew up in Pune tells us stories of how when they were young, there would be musicals that would go on for the entire night. Where the characters actually sang the songs and also performed and acted as well.. These musicals are called Natyasangeet in Marathi.. No wonder the first movie maker was Dadasaheb Phalke a Marathi genius who made films a reality for India. The movie Harishchandrachi Factory is based on him V Shantaram was another great director of those times. You can watch these whenever Marathi movies gets a chance- Gabhricha Paus- Girish Kulkarni actor Bal Gandharva - biography on a singer/Actor who made theatre what it is for Maharashtra Valu-the wild Bull Me Wasantrao - i am looking for it myself but you heard of it in the roundtable
