Something you should know about why old Indian songs' lyrics are so fondly remembered: they're poetic, elegant and romantic because they're very respectful. In Hindi, the verb has a different ending for when you address someone your age/close to you vs when you talk to someone who's new to you/elder than you or you want to show some courtesy. So 'Na Jao' (don't go) becomes "Na Jaiye" (Don't go, but respectfully). Hence, "Bekaraar karke humein yun na JAIYE, aapko hamari kasam, laut AIYE". And this adds grace to songs. They will often use "aap" (you) instead of "tum" for their beloved. Maybe Rick's wife can explain this in more detail.
